Personal Qualifications
I’m a magical, mystical child of the universe! My mother is English, my father is Kashmiri, my husband is American and my puppies are Maltese & Hawaiian!
My first profession as a Primary School teacher, enabled me to travel and work throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. I spent 6 years in Saudi Arabia as Department Head at the British School of Riyadh. In Saudi, I met my husband ‘Commander Applegate’. We had an exotic desert wedding and relocated to Japan. We spent 3 years in Japan, where I taught Yoga/Healthy Lifestyle for the Military, their families and the Japanese Civilians. During that time, I came to Hawaii to study Kundalini Yoga. I spent 5 weeks on the Big Island, fell in love with its powerful healing energy and decided that we needed to move there!
This calling brought me to study Acupuncture at the World Medicine Institute (WMI). Through the power of intention and manifestation my husband and I relocated from Japan to Hawaii in 2011.
I have had acupuncture treatments for my own health challenges for many years, and had found it to be a natural, safe and effective healing modality. It was a dream of mine to some day study acupuncture and be able to help others recover from their health challenges. I had no idea that dream was going to eventually bring me to Hawaii!
I was honored and blessed to study Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Medical Qi Gong with Dr. Chang Yi Hsiang, the Founder of WMI and the 64th generation Taoist lineage holder of this 2000 year old tradition of Taoist Healing Arts. I graduated from WMI in August 2014 with a Masters Degree of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine and three years of inspiring clinical internship alongside Dr. Chang and Dr. Todoki.
I am a passionate practitioner and teacher of Kundalini Yoga & Gong sound healing. I teach weekly classes and workshops around the Island and am creating a growing community of Kundalini Yogis!
I am co-creator of and teacher at the Hawaii Healing Sound School, offering monthly sound healing classes and holding sound healing circles for the Oahu community.
In 2012, at a Wellness Weekend here on Oahu, I was introduced to the SCIO Biofeedback Therapy machine. I had the opportunity to receive treatments myself and observe others receiving therapy and was astounded by the results and information detected by the device. I have since added this unique, state of the art therapy to my practice.
In 2014 I opened Soulistic Holistics Hawaii, offering these wonderful, ancient and modern healing therapies to Hawaii and beyond!
